The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has released its 2025 performance report, revealing a massive escalation in market oversight and enforcement. According to the official data, inspection visits across the Emirates surged to 176,000, marking an 89% year-on-year increase from 2024.
The crackdown has resulted in the seizure of over 29.5 million non-compliant tobacco packs and 7.6 million excise goods, with total tax dues and administrative penalties hitting a staggering AED 608 million.
